HERITAGE LE CHÂTEAU

"Also known as Le Château de Bel Ombre"

A 19th Century family mansion

Dating back to 1765, Heritage Bel Ombre (formerly Domaine de Bel Ombre), where Heritage Resorts is located, immerses its guests through the rich heritage of Mauritius. Embark on a journey through time, at Heritage Le Château, an enchanting former sugar plantation style house, set in typical French Gardens. The perfect place to give a twist of culture to your holidays in paradise.

The Château, which was honoured for its high gastronomy by TripAdvisor with the Certificate of Excellence 2018, devoted itself to the staples of haute cuisine. It brought in a starred chef to conceive a creative menu.  The sophisticated cuisine combines farm-to-fork dining with locavorism, with some of the produce sourced directly from the domaine.

The first floor houses an apartment in which guests may enjoy “afternoon tea,” a British custom favored by Mauritians. Birdcages, delicate tea sets, an interior courtyard with flowers and plants give the space a timeless feel. Book the Suite for the night, making for a magical and unconventional experience.
