A unique tournament, a new golf course, a renovated clubhouse… The Heritage Golf Club is outdoing itself to offer golfers ever more rewarding experiences. We look back at the Club’s major announcements over the past few months.

Heritage Golf Club welcomes back the ABMO!

Fifth edition of AfrAsia at Heritage Resorts

From the 5th to the 8th of December 2019, the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open will be held on Heritage Golf Club’s formidable course. This flagship tournament, which is co-sanctioned by the Sunshine, European and Asian Tours, has been held yearly since 2015 and attracts golf fans from around the world.

Some of the best-known names in golf have risen to the challenge once again this year. Among them are the young Shubhankar Sharma, who won two European Tour titles in three months; French nationals Benjamin Hebert, Romain Langasque and Matthieu Pavon, all of whom have enjoyed successful careeers; and Nicolas Colsaerts and Thomas Pieters, the Belgian winners of the Ryder Cup.

During this week of golf, spectators will be invited to cheer players on from the fan zone next to the 18th hole. They will also be invited to take part in a Golf Clinic on the 7th of December, which will include an introduction to golf for beginners alongside golfing demonstrations, presentations and events specially designed for children! Throughout the competition, the newly renovated Heritage C Beach Club will be a rendez-vous point for players and supporters. It’s an ideal spot in which to analyse the contestants’ performances while enjoying a refreshing drink.

Exciting news from the Heritage Golf Club

Heritage Golf Club Best Golf Course in the Indian Ocean

To strengthen its standing as the “Indian Ocean’s Best Golf Course” (an accolade it received from the World Golf Awards for the sixth year in a row in 2019!), the Heritage Golf Club plans to create a second 18-hole championship course in the heart of the Heritage Bel Ombre estate.

The course’s construction kicked off in July 2019 and it is scheduled for completion in September 2021. Designed by renowned architect Peter Matkovich and 2010 Open champion Louis Oosthuizen – two names that golf fans are certain to recognise! – it is already shaping up to be a masterpiece.

Mauritius Golf Bliss Package by Heritage Resorts

Ahead of the course’s inauguration, golfers on holiday in Mauritius can take advantage of Heritage Resorts’ Golf Bliss package. This includes five tee offs on four of the island’s most beautiful courses and is an ideal opportunity to discover Mauritius differently.

The new Grill House for an amazing experience at Heritage Golf Mauritius

But there’s no need to be a pro golfer to appreciate the course’s beautiful green spaces: in fact, the Club House terrace is the perfect place to admire the landscape! The newly renovated Club is now home to the O’Grill restaurant, whose grilled specialties are a treat for the tastebuds.

Whether it’s exciting events or new developments to look forward to, the Heritage Golf Club is buzzing with activity!
